How to add 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) to your WAX Cloud Wallet

The WAX Cloud Wallet, while easy to use can be compromised if you are not careful. This is especially true if you used one of the shared log-in options to set it up. Here is an example: You chose to use your Facebook login information to set up your new WAX Cloud Wallet. While that made creation of the wallet fast, it also made it a little less secure. Why? Because if someone knows or guesses your Facebook password, they now have your WAX Cloud wallet password too! This means they could go in and transfer your WAX and NFT's to their own wallet without your knowledge or permission.

Luckily you can make your wallet more secure by adding a second layer of protection called "2-Factor Authentication" or "2FA" for short. This requires you to have not only your password, but also a device with your 2FA information (typically your cell phone).

To enable 2FA:

Log into your WAX cloud wallet.

  • Click the gear icon at the bottom right corner.

  • Click the shield or "Account Security" the top right corner.

  • Click "Enable" next to 2 Factor Authentication.

  • Type in the code that was sent to your registered e-mail address.

  • Scan the QR code or type the code into a 2FA application such as Google Authenticator.

That's it! If you prefer visual cues, please see below.
